| My family shares the last name Remer, spelled that same way as well. We are thinking of a family reunion in that area next summer. I was curious if anyone could recommend some smaller quality muskie lakes. I will probably have a 1448 jon boat with 15hp with me, so the larger lakes I am familiar with might be a bit dicey. Any help is geatly appreciated. Also any good hiking or family entertainment in the area is welcome as well. Thank you, BR |

Location: Elko - Lake Vermilion | I stayed at the Remer motel last yr while fishing the PMTT on leach... (clean, and nice ppl.)
It was a 34 mile ride to Walker,....There are some things to do there,....And there are some smaller lakes nearby with muskies,...... I just never fished any of them..
If you get a calm day put your boat in at Whipholt (Huddles Resort area) you aren't to far away from Big Fish Spots....

You are a half hour from LB/Wabedo, I would go there for sure. Otherwise another ten minutes down the road is Baby where you can always get out of the wind and it will have more but definitely smaller fish than LB/Wabedo. |

Location: Ames, Iowa | Boy Lake west of Remer on 200 is managed for muskies. Longville area lakes would work too as would Moose/Deer over by Grand Rapids. |

| The reservoir is stocked on the way to remer out of grains rapids we fished it last year and caught a nice pike it is a small area. Didn't see any muskies and last dnr report not promising. Read DNR website on.... it would be a drive. I am very familiar with the area my familly lived there too.... salvus last name. Use to camp every year at Mable lake nice camp ground and swim area no muskie... hotel is decent too. Moose lake is a drive but good fishing. I guess I would recommend leech lake |

Location: Minnesota: where it's tough to be a sportsfan! | BOY LAKE: not wanting to hi-jack Ben's thread but I'm sure he would like to know the answer is there anyone that Muskie fishes Boy ( a.k.a.Big Boy) on a regular basis that can comment on the population?
I've noted that the L.M. bass sure are in decline. |

| Boy woman etc etc I have seen pictures caught if you look at resorts around there... reading up on the lakes doesn't make it sound very promising though... I would like more information on them too... the articles I read said they didn't take well find them here and there... |
