Location: Minneapolis, MN | Does anyone have any thoughts on what affect if any the glow has on muskies? I was thinking of picking up a few lures that had glow bodies or skirts for night fishing but if it negatively impacts fishing results then I won't do it. How do most people know where their bait is without the leader actually hitting the rod tip? |

Location: Lake "y" cause lake"x" got over fished | I have used glow in the past, but never had any luck on anything with glow on or in it. Fished day time, night time... didn't matter. Never even moved a fish on anything with glow. Doesn't mean that it wont help another angler, or that baits with glow wont catch fish. They just wont catch fish for me. Personally I am not a fan.
The one thing that I would like to try though. Is my buddy puts a small glow bead at the end of his leader to know when he needs to go into the figure 8. But again, anything glow has been bad juju for me, so I try and just throw top waters at night. So I'll hafta try that and see if my opinion changes or not. |

Location: minocqua, wi. | lots of products/options for night fishing but if you do enough of it there's nothing like the "feel" of knowing where your bait is at the end of the retrieve.
stealth tackle carries a line of leaders with glow-beads engineered into them giving you a visual and then some use a uni-knot leader set up (longer) that gives you a "tick" when it passes through the eyelet. do some searching and you'll find some options you might like to try.
as for glow ... i don't personally use glow products but know some do with success. why? ... that's something i can't comment on, i use a lot of blacks and nickel at night and dry to focus on noise, vibration and displacement (big baits) when night fishing. if you don't night fish now, start. my favorite time to be on the water. |
