| Big Lake has been my best lake up there. The large sand point coming off of the island is always decent and the shallow boulders just north of the other nearby island are always worth a try. The channel leading into the next lake is a decent spot as well as the hump out on the north end of the lake near the boat launch.
If you can or are willing to though, I have had much better luck on Catfish lake further up the chain.
Good Luck |

| Good point Sam. If I remember correctly also, to get to that part of the ER chain you also need to go over the road on the boat lift they have, which is always cool. Even during the summer weekends it doesn't seem like the line of boats is really ever that long either. I would definitely stop at the Chanticleer for a steak sandwich too! |

| With fast rising water temps you should graph around the mid lake humps. Baitfish will be bunched up off the edges of some of them. When you find them you will know it. This is the peak time out there for chucking rubber around these humps. Stick with it and you will have opportunities. Good luck |

| Figure8 - I also forgot to mention that the far South West bay/bog in Big Lake usually has good cabbage growth/weeds early in the season with a bunch of brush and a few rocks in the middle of it. With a 'cooler' start to the year, this bay would be worth a look. |

| Rather than starting a new thread, thought I would revive this one.. I have not fished the chain much for muskies, but will be taking my parents out this weekend and are considering trying the chain. Size is not important, but would be great to have some action. I've got a few places in mind from my last time out there, but wondering if there are other spots worth targeting? Any lures that have been hot lately? Also, my dad and I can make do, but will need to make a stop or two for a restroom for my mother.. Are there any decent public restrooms on the chain or places to eat that have good affordable grub, nice docks, and clean restrooms? I plan to fish the north end (planting ground, round, Island, Forks) one day and the south end (Dog, Big, Whitefish) the next unless there is a burning reason to focus on one or the other (or somewhere nearby off the chain) instead.. Thank you!

Location: menasha wi 54952 | Pine Isle Resort on Medicine Lake has good food and is very clean. Good docking. Any of the lakes you listed are good although Whitefish is connected by a shallow channel and wont be easy to get to without trailering. Long, Planting Ground, Island, Laurel, Deer, Dog and Big will all have shallow weeds to seek out for some action. Good luck!!!

| Ok, so I've spent about 5 days muskie fishing the chain over the last month or so.. Looking at going back up next weekend. I've seen some fish, but cannot get anything to commit. Any suggestions on hot lures and colors? Much appreciated! |

| No problem.. Don't quote me though, I've been fishing a few different bodies of water over the last couple weeks and water temp is something I don't pay attention to as much as I probably should |

Location: E. Tenn | I won't be up there for another 5 weeks, and of course things are liable to be completely different.. I'm happy to hear they aren't in the upper 70s like some years (2012 and prior).
Thanks again. |

| Am probably going to be back up this coming weekend.. Will be sure to keep an eye on it and report when I get back.. Any lure and color suggestions? Have been raising few fish, but not getting anything to commit besides a few pike |

Location: E. Tenn | One can never go wrong with a black bucktail.. blade color.. let the fish decide. Also do well with Shallow Invaders, Jakes Shallow/Depth Raiders, and such. natural colors for clear water... and gaudy for the really tea colored stuff..
..of course you knew that..
I've also had luck on topwaters especially WTD style baits, and buzzbaits, during low light. (There's nothing like having a ski blow up on a buzzer in pitch darkness!!)
I haven't thrown a lot of rubber up there, but I plan on it this time..
Good luck, and don't educate them too well!!
