| You surprize me Todd...you REALLY DO!!! Has it ever occured to you just WHY housing is the way it is today???? Well just look at what you posted! Unfortunately, that very type of food has created a type of "Couch Potatoism" in the construction industry today; it's no small wonder that homes/buildings aren't built like they used to be.
Real food is fast becoming a thing of the past; go to any site today and look around you; food wrappers and bags from every imaginable joint w/in a 5 mile area! Back in the days when peeps cared, workers took that first break at 10:00...then you would find hard boiled eggs, egg sandwiches, homemade biscuits w/ real butter, coffee from a Thermos, water from a used orange juice container...lunch was shared under any available shade, and what a treat that was! Brown paper sacks or small coolers filled w/ a smorgasboard of sandwiches MADE AT HOME, various snacks, milk from cartons, then everyone would lay back and rest, all the while consuming vast amounts of Moon Pies and passing around Frescas, Double Colas, Coke Colas, Orange Crush and grapettes. Little Debbie had the respect and reverance due her back then too. Now, the new dude has to go fetch lunch for everyone, bringing back all kinds of trash food, rendering the workers practically useless the remainder of the day...no Todd, the brochures must be passed out, and a way of life preserved![::)]

| Sponge, I actually could not agree more. The junk homes being built today, nothing lasts and alot of the labor is not skilled whatsoever. My dad just had a 30x40 garage shell built. They put it up in two days and it looks like it! Same with my granparents townhome. It's worth a buck and a half and it has plastic trim and doors, and the windows need replaced and the drywall has cracked and been repaired 3 times(still cracked) and it's not 10 years old. Not to mention the garages being built with these homes, not sure garage is a fitting term. They sure don't build them like they used to and not to many seem to take pride in what they are doing anymore. | |
