Location: Minnesota: where it's tough to be a sportsfan! | This spring I had a guy schedule a day to get help tuning his gliders and some jerkbaits. He was going on about my "in boat weighting system" so I thought it might help others. I start with some SS welding rod. Thin stuff, cut to fit in a Plano. Then I have a few of the longer tube weights that were out as mojo weights, when I find them on sale I LOAD up as I use them for allot of things. Real simple system, twist on eyelet in front, add weight and twist in next eyelet. By sliding the weight back and forth you will find where the bait needs it by the action. A small bend in the wire locks it in place. I used to go back to the shop and then drill and fill...but I have seen several of my baits have just been running around with the weights on the outside still. I suppose years of marriage does that to a guy! Ha Ha sharp hooks to ya! |
