What boats have 9 foot rod lockers? I have been looking around and have not been able to find one. Im specifically looking for a boat in the 12-18k range.

Thanks!

The Ranger 618T has one locker and the 620T has two 9 footers. Might be able to find a old model for the top of your price range.

Skeeter mx 1825 will hold a12 foot rod but I think they start at 32 nice boat but more then you want to spend. people just started using longer rods so not many boat builders made rod lockers for long rods. May be buy a old boat and re do the inside the way you want it might be a way to go

Thanks for all the great input guys! Im starting to lean farther towards the Tuffy line, and away from rangers. i really like the X-190, 2060 and 1890. Also, the tracker tundra seems like a nice boat, anyone have input on these?

If you can find an older 205 Triton, they will hold 9'er with ease in the center rod locker. You can get around 25 rods in there, sometimes it's hard to get the one you want out!!!! Besides that they are a great big water muskie boat.

I have a 1997 Ranger 692. With two modifications, removing the rod tubes and front rod bumper, I can easily get 9 footers in the center rod locker. I had a 1998 Ranger 690. It had a side rod locker. Same thing. Removed front bumper and could get 9 footers in there.

I have a 2007 Lund Explore 1600. This boat has a rod locker on each side. I pulled the front deck and cut a hole in the front of my port side locker. I then installed a 4" PVC pipe in the front end that runs next to the live well in the middle. I can now put 3-4 9 foot rods in my port side rod locker.

On the Starboard side I cut a hole in the area that hold the shift lever/console, I then inserted a PVC pipe into the hole. I can't lock these up but it is a really nice place where I can storege 3 more rods up to 10'. (I copied this from the Lund 1825 Explorer)

In total I can store
4 - 9 footers
3- 10 footers
About 15-7 foot or less
all in a 16 foot boat........

I probably should/could do the same thing to the starboard rod locker as I did with the port but we manage the way we are.

I think you can do this with most boat like this (Crestliners or Alumacrafts).

I like the boat a lot (great size and affordable) but I wish it was glass. I am ready to buy a new rig (retirement present) and I don't want a BIG BIG boat but I am waiting for the manufactures to catch up with the rod storage which I am sure they will do.

The bumper is stapled in place from the bottom. I grabbed ahold of the bumper with a vise grips and just pulled it out. Break the staple ends off with a needle nose and you are good to go.
