| We recently had one of our retailers (small just starting business, he made lures) ask us to make one of our hard body lures we designed into a muskrat looking lure. Anyone have any ideas on how to put something similar to hair on a wood hard body lure? What to use? What does everyone think? Any ideas or opinions welcome. |

| Sounds like an interesting lure!!!  Thanks for the help our lure is larger to work with so still thinking on ideas... I guess if I want to put the time in that would be a start... has to be an easier way for so much lure body to cover.... |

Location: Minnesota: where it's tough to be a sportsfan! | I did take one of those Boas ( like a stripper uses) once and glued that on a bait it actually covered it pretty good wrapped tightly it layered great. Might give you a start, I know you want to know where to get the Boa right. Strippersupply.com

| Hmmm I didn't know this would turn into such an interesting endeavor still thinking on advice is giving us some ideas. I will be sure to post pictures once I get this lure going... be a while... |

| I knew an old baitmaker that used to brush Elmers glue on his plugs and then roll them in the sawdust behind his table saw. The sawdust would obviously stick to the glue and add "hair like" texture to the lure. He would then paint over the top....turned out pretty cool looking but not sure how it would hold up |

| Once long ago, I cut a piece of mink into narrow strips and coated a Mucky Jitter Bug with epoxy. I attached the strips long wise to the plug.It made a nice looking bait. Three years ago I started to cast it and caught two near 40" muskies on it before they chewed the fur off. |

| To make a tail on a lure like that you would need something like Para chord or nylon rope, anything that doesn't pick up too much water. In Wisconsin there is already a lure that sounds exactly what you are describing, Ill post a picture for you:
