My heartfelt regards to each family...sad to wake up to see this sort of news this morning. Never knew either, but had viewed JoMuskys site and he seemed to be a great person. Though these things are inevitable for all of us, when they happen the pain is very real, especially when it happens to people that you are associated w/. My prayer is that we can continue to enjoy one another on the board, and live each day knowing that there is HOPE even after we leave here. EVERY individual on this board is EQUALLY IMPORTANT...thanks for making our lives a little brighter each day.....

JoMusky was not involved in the accident. I wanted to say that first, so those that know him are not worried about his physical well- being.

As for the tragedy that happened last night, all I know is a man, Tom Qualls, died in an auto accident on the way home from doing what he most loved to do. I had just met Tom this year, and had many conversations with him, both on the board, e-mails, and phone calls. Fishing was his passion. He death is a big shock.

I don't quite know what to say yet. A huge loss to his family, my prayers go out to them. Tom, you will be missed, my friend. May God bless you.

In case you missed it on the other post - Tom e-mailed me at home to ask what he could do to help plan and prepare food for the LOTW Outing in August. He was the first to step forward to ask what he could do to help.

I was fortunate to be able to spend the four days ice fishing with Tom that I did. He quickly became a good freind of mine as he was a great man and he had the fishing fever as bad as I do.

We met at the landing on Puckaway early yesterday morning and spent the day pike fishing. The action wasn't as good as our last trip, but we did manage about a dozen fish in the low 20" range. As most of you know it was a very cold and windy day, but it wasn't to bad out of the wind by the truck. Tom packed up at 3pm as he had dinner plans with his wife. My friend Tim and I stuck it out till dark. When we got settled into our hotel room in Marquette I tried Tom's cell and learned of the tragedy. It is beleived that he feel asleep at the wheel and missed a turn, rolling his truck three times. Authorities are not sure if it would have helped if he had his seat belt on. I beleive that the cold weather all day and the heat from his truck played a big part in his drowsieness. Gwen told me today that he had a problem with staying awake while driving. It is a problem that I have as well and I vow to be exspecially carefull in the future.

I will miss Tom very much. I regret that I will never be able to musky fish with him.

My prayers and thoughts are with the Qualls family.

I will post the arrangements as soon as I find out.

Joe

Deepest sympathy to the family and friends. Playing for a full and speedy recovery, and hope we don't hear this kind of news again this year. Very sad, but the way I see it, he was going to what he loved to do.
