Location: Merrill, Wisconsin | I'm really interested in buying one of these. I was doing some research online and one website claimed the 10" has a better glide than the 8"? I would like to get the 8" but I don't want to risk losing that great erratic action. How's everyone feel about the hell hounds? Worth buying one?

Location: Franklin, WI | The Hell Puppy has been the greatest performer for me. The 8" is my #1 'goto' bait. |

Location: Gilberts IL/Rhinelander WI | The 10" may glide further, but the 8" is more erratic in my opinion. The 10" is a much bigger bait than the 8". |

| I actually prefer the 6" hell pup over the 8" hell hound where I fish. Have not tried the 10" bait yet.... |

| I really like the regular 8" Hellhound, and the 9" squirrelly Hellpup. Two of my go-to baits all year. |

Location: WI | The 8" is awesome. Not a huge fan of the squirrely verions, the different placement of the rear hook will tangle, and there's nothing really holding the tail on. Even though they're plastic, I have a few that run a little different/shallower. Great bait, use lots of pauses, and a hard twitch to make it shoot up to the surface once in a while. |

Location: Lake St.Clair | The 8" is killer just got one a few weeks ago and it kicks hard real nice walk the dog look. Swings out and upward on a hard jerk... yet to land a fish on it or get a follow but hasnt been fished much yet. |

Location: Dixon, IL | I love my 8 inch Hellbound! Beautiful side to side under water! 8 inch is just right for me and 3.5 oz is pretty heavy so use right rod for the job! |

| Exceptional bait. Buy one and you'll want to buy more. Extremely versatile. Twitch your rod UP and you can use it as a surface bait over thick weeds then let it drop down into pockets or off of drop offs. The action is erratic but not wildly erratic where you can't predict which way it's going. |

Maybe that's what I need to do. I have several with only one muskie caught. Perhaps I can learn more about how to work the bait more effective (erratic) rather than just a glide bait.
I only have one 10" and it can make long wide glides, wider than the 8". Of course, you will need a rod and reel to handle the heavier bait. I would buy the 8" before buying the 10". |
