| I was told by a DNR employee that a new law will come in effect this spring on any Illinois lake with muskies in it. All live bait exceeding 8 inches must be on a quick strike rig. This is great news. Now lets hope every other state with muskies in it follows. |

| You heard right, it hasn't passed yet. I was at IMA meeting at the Chicago show. At the moment as it was presented you would also not be able to use circle hooks, but they might amend it after more research on circle hooks. I personaly think this is a step in the right direction. Problem is to get bait shops to get rid of single hook rigs. Al[:0] |

| I just read in the paper this morning that it is going into affect as of April 1. I agree that it is deffinatly a step in the right direction. |

| The way I read it was that on any bait fish 8" and larger a quick set rig must be used. The rig must consist of two treble hooks. As of right now you are not allowed to use circle hooks, they want to do more studies on them first. |

| This is great news, but isn't this law targeting the ignorant who use single hook swallow rigs? Whos to say that they use a quick-strike rig correctly? |

| Great Point, Anon!!!!!!!! I live in Illinois and believe me, muskie fishing hasn't been around that long in this state, but we are the FIRST to take action against this single hook issue!!!!! Why in God's name won't Wisconsin open their flippin eyes? I am really starting to fall into that category of "The resort owner's fault"! |
