Was looking for some ideas to fill in the split grip on one of my rods so it rest in my arm better. I was thinking of wrapping with tennis racket tape but it might be too grippy. Any suggestions or ideas are appreciated. Thanks

This might be more money that you wnat to spend, but I bet a decent custom rod shop could just swap out the split grip for a normal handle. Otherwise the tennis racket stuff is what I would use.

Tennis racket tape works great. If you want something thicker use handle bar tape used on bikes.

I think Thorne Bros or another custom rod maker would do it for around $20.

I use 1/2" water pipe insulation and then tape over that. Makes a long day of throwing big baits a lot easier on your side.

Mudhole.com sells Eva foam in many sizes/colors. You can cover it with a section of xwrap shrink tube and it looks like a sweet custom. It wouldn't cost you more than 10 dollars for parts and a couple for shipping.
