We all know the most Eastern Muskie Fishermen are trollers. How many of you cast and when?
I'v heard of a few casters even on St Clair.

thanks

How far east do you mean? I'd have to say in the New Jersey area it's about 1/2 and 1/2 . My self I like to mix it up , I tend to troll a little more these days.

Good hunting dudes

Some of us who've been born and raised on Lake Chautauqua, NY rarely troll. Some of us have been casting there as our primary choice for 50 years, and only troll when the weed cutters destroy our sacred weed beds in mid-summer. Then, and only then, are we forced to troll for suspended lunge. Tight lines,

P.S. Just watch us in early July at Larry's next combined MuskieFIRST/C.L.M.H. outing???

I dont a lot of casting in the southeast, KY and OH. ITs amazing how KY is all casting and OH is all trolling.

i like to do both. but if one method is doing alot better than the other, then i am going to so whats hot. Its hard to cast open water in the south, confidence wise.

I have casted St. Clair in the Anchor Bay. i personally seen the biggest fish i have ever seen casting there, but no hook ups. A Fiend of mine has gotten them up to 50.5.

but at St. Clair i perfer to troll, its hard to hope to catch a fish or 2, and go out and troll up a bunch.

On the lakes, I cast more in the spring than any other time of the year, but we have several good streams in southeast Ohio and eastern WV where casting is the only way to go, any time of year!

It depends on the conditions and what lake, river or creek we are fishing at the time . It is about 50-50 for us.

I do a lot more casting from June untill September then trolling takes over and is exclusive in November.

I can troll up fish all year long but casting is more fun. [:sun:]
