Location: Illinois | hayward things to do/see
shop on Main St. cute, touristy knick knack shops. I'd recommend:
Tremblay's Sweet Shop(on Main St): see candy actually being made- and lots of sweets! mmm peanut brittle
Anglers Bar and Grill(on Main St.): Best lunch spot in town. Eat on the patio, or dine in. 2 lane bowling alley. mmm burgers
Freshwater Fishing Hall Of Fame: A good way to kill an hour and get a memorable family photo in front of the big musky.
Famous Daves BBQ Shack On Round Lake: mmm ribs
River floats are a fun too at the KOA Campground, either by canoe or tubes.
The Moccasin Bar is a Tavern with lots of funny and interesting animal and fish mounts, including the 'World Record" Musky
Good tavern to stop for a round of drinks and a game of pool, and buy a souvenier hat or T-shirt.
The Lumber Jack show is good family entertainment. You can see a schedule at the link provided:

| Great numbers lake for muskies, fairly scenic and connected to Teal Lake which is probably even more scenic and easier to fish with simple cabbage flats, sunken islands and a couple good weed flats off of islands. 10mph speed limit cuts down on recreational traffic. Great lake and area for a family vacation... X2 on Famous Dave's and if your family likes pie the Norske Nook is kind of an interesting stop. |

Location: Smith Creek | Try to get reservations for the Norsk Nook. I've been there 3 times and have to eat there. 1 hour wait each time.
There's a wildlife park on the south side of town that's pretty cool for the kids.

| x3 Famous Dave's for ribs and Coop's in town for Pizza. Lost land doesn't have a lot of defined structure. Mostly weedbed fishing. As mentioned earlier, Teal is easier to fish in terms of well-defined structure (humps, islands , weed flats). Water is stained on both lakes. |

Location: Northern Wisc. | i second angler bar and grill....hands down the greatest friday fish fry anywhere....all you can eat and it is great....its the only fish fry i have throughout the year, because all the other ones dont compare to anglers. Fresh water hall of fame is a staple in hayward....Hayward is great place to relax and check out nature on the many lakes..... |
