| The World Muskie Tournament Series™ (WMT Series™) will be hosting two Vilas County qualifying events this Memorial Weekend on Saturday, May 25 on North/South Twin Lakes in Phelps. Each event is a Muskie Country Tournament Circuit™ qualifier where the top fifty teams will earn their way to the biggest muskie tournament of the year, the WMT Series™ Invitational Championship™. The very prestigious Invitational Championship has set records for the last three years with the highest cash pay-outs for a muskie tournament circuit championship with last year's top prize of $50,000.00 with a purse of over $70,000.00. This year could see that record falling again for the fourth straight year at $80,000.00 for first place with a purse of $140,000.00
Both the Lac Vieux Desert and Twin Lakes tournaments are scheduled to pay down five places with the first place prize equaling $10,000.00 with a full field of participants. The cost to compete in the muskie tournament is $330 per team. Both the Lac Vieux Desert and North/South Twin Lakes have been two very popular tournaments for the WMT Series™ for over a decade and with spring finally arriving in northern Wisconsin, folks will be eager to enjoy the warm weather, the camaraderie, and the spirited competition that both tournaments are sure to provide. Saturdays Lac Vieux Desert tournament will start at 6:00 am at the headquarters of Hill Side Resort and concluding at 3:00 pm. The North/South Twin Lakes tourney will have the same hours on Memorial Day Monday with the headquarters located at Grape's Twin Haven Resort with both tournament awards commencing at 4:00 pm at their respective headquarters.
The Lac Vieux Desert and North/South Twin Lakes still has open spots and there is still time to send in your entries to get an earlier starting position. We will also be accepting entries for either event the Friday before the tournaments at Hill Side Resort (on the south shores of Lac Vieux Desert) from 5:30pm to 7:30pm. There will also be an opportunity to enter into the North/South Twins event on Saturday, May 25 at the Grape's Twin Haven Resort from 5:30 pm to 6:00 pm.

| I heard the results from the WMT this past weekend on LVD and Twins.
LVD had 8 boats in it and ZERO fish were caught.
Twin also had 8 boats and one 36 incher was caught for the win. | |

| The last time I fished an LVD event it was 90 degrees and sunny, there were 80-90 anglers and we didn't get a single fish that day either. "Big Swede" won it on a raffle. Maybe that lake is just too tough for us? | |

Location: SE, WI. | PEWAUKEE HAD 7 FISH BOATED...Gene and Lori Scherf took first W/ a 41.25" 2nd was a 40.75" 3rd...38 1/2" 4th...36".........................only 44 boats fished the tourney...:( Not sure about okauchee
