| I'm writing a speech for my speech class on why more lakes need to be managed for muskies. Could some of the experts on here point me towards some really convincing links? I know I can find my own, but there are some really knowledgeable people on here. |

| Funny. I was just putting up a post about our DNR fish biologist, Ben Heussner, who will be talking to our Chapter of Muskies Inc next week. He might be a very good person for you to talk to...

Here's a nice article to get you started...

Location: Loves Park, IL | Musky Hunter had an article titled "Project Green Gene" in this month's magazine. It is about the results of a study to find out the best strain of musky to stock in Illinois waters. |

| Go to the Minnesota dnr web site and look up the community response to the introduction of muskellunge. Great stuff in there. |

Location: Van Buren, Indiana | Upper Long Lake here in Indiana just had a survey done a couple of years ago because of property owners wanting stocking numbers reduced. They complained that it was hurting the bass fishing. The result of the survey showed that the numbers had dropped slightly, but the average bass size had almost doubled. No affect on panfish. Give Jed Pearson a call he runs the retrieval of eggs from Webster fish and is the driving force for stocking here in Indiana. You can also look up that survey on the INDNR website. Jed's number is : (260) 829-6241
I have written two papers in college on Muskie! I figured if they're gonna give me the chance I am going to write about something I like! I got an A on one and a B on the other! |
