| Just got 2 ABU add-on line couners, and are they nifty. I put them on a pair of 5500C3's and can't wait to try them out. They cost me 44.95. | |

| David,
I spotted those in a new catalog and was curious myself as I need to set up 2 new trolling reels.
Any chance when you get them spooled up with line you do some testing and let us know how accurate they are.
Take some measurements in your yard say at 25/50/75/100/150 feet and then pull out line to those marks and see how accurate the counter is. Some counters tend to get off the more line you let out.
According to the add in the catalog they are suppose to be adjustable for different line diameter ect.
Curious how accurate they are..?
Also what kind of battery do they take..? Anything in the instruction on expected run-time for battery?
Thanks....shared info like this is all part of what makes MuskieFIRST a great place to be...
Best,

| There are several custom settings
English or Metric
Line Type - Mono
Superline
Lead Core
Line Test / Diameter
Spool Fill - 95%-75%-50%-25%
Preset Distance - will beep when it get to the distance you set.
Automatic Mode
Backlight
Battery - CR2032 (watch)
Seems pretty accurate, but I have only played with them in the house (20 degrees and snow kept me in)
What is really nice is the display shuts off after several seconds on non use, but come back on as soon as you turn the reel handle. This saves your battery. | |
