Place a very big dinner crankbait down in the zone, camp on a known food shelf for Hawg's and stay till they come to you!Don't leave a Big Fish Dinner Table to try to find another, just keep passing the plate!

I'd like to see more input from the pros too, but this is the time of year when they are probably pounding the water pretty hard. They're probably tired. I for one work much harder when I'm fishing than I do at my job. [:sun:] Give 'em a break until the hard water season.

B420 - you may want to ease up a little. This is prime time for most of us and tournament time as well. I have spent the last two weeks concentrating on a couple of tournaments so I haven't had much time to spend on this board. Oh yeah, I also have a wife and two daughters - they like to spend time with me as well. I know many of the others have been fishing tournaments and pounding the water - which will probably be the case through the month of November. Everyone can sense the season coming to a close. It may be slow for a little while. That doesn't mean nobody has anything to say. We also don't get paid for this, we do it for fun and to help others catch more fish.

FALL PATTERNS:

The ultmate fall pattern for me has been running the deep weed edges dragging suckers (12" to 14" on quick strike rigs) and casting twitchbaits, jerkbaits, crankbaits and spinnerbaits. I usually put the boat in 8 to 10 feet of water. Run one sucker out the back of the boat about 6 feet down and the other sucker out the back of the boat about 3 feet down. I will run the edge of the weeds and cast both shallow and deep. Cast shallow with Squirkos, Suicks, Crane Baits, Slammer Cranks, Jakes. Cast Deep with Depth Raiders, Bulldawgs and Spinner baits. The best weed edges have points or fingers coming out - forming inside and outside turns. Mid lakes humps can be awesome spots for this technique as well. The bigger fish seem to have a tendency to move to the humps as Fall progresses.

My best weekend I had with clients last Fall was 10 fish in two days (32" - 43") and we lost (had hooks into) 14 other fish. If the cards would have been right, we could have had 24 fish in two days.

Hey guys, you cant catch them on a computer, you got to be there!

When fall hunting, food is my primary focus.Watching food come and go on structure is what I watch.Knowing when the bite will happen in different locations is a key factor.
Sometimes the bite happens with abundant forage and other places when the forage leaves the bite is on.Trolling is my premier aproach.Big baits in the 13 inch range work well,as water cools, triple jointed baits like the new triple jointed Trophy diver we are prototyping are ideal for this situation.Triple jointed Kwickfish are delicious also.

Kowing where and what to place is an importance also.Keep a watchfull eye on your graph looking ever so closely for huge blips will indicate what depth to run your baits,be in their face!

Locations,I would concentrate on break lines, bowls, river mouths, under water channels and uncharted structure.Weeds can produce but selecting proper days to fish them is key at this time of cold water.

Scott,
Sorry about my approach man! Just wanted to know what you guys do get the bigguns in the fall! It just seem like the Pro Perspective was a little stagnant lately
Have a great fall, and thanks for the replies
