| For all you suspending musky pros, what are your favorite clear water colors for topwater lures? |

| Of course black is the old stand by, but in clear conditions I'll also throw white or blue. These have been very good to me [:)] |

| I find dark colors (black) to work the best, I have had limited action with some colors (orange, white). I fish Whitefish bay on LOTW which can be a tuff area to fish (does hold some very big fish) and usually only throw topwaters under low light conditions (dusk,dawn or prefrontal).

| Also, my favorite color for topwater would be black. But depending on water clarity and sky conditions that also plays a big role in the colors that you should use. My second choice would be natural perch or anything with an orange belly.

| In clear water I like to use natural colors like a perch pattern, one of my favorites is red and white. |

| I usually use black, with some contrast like orange, chartruese, or white. I have been experimenting with brighter colors on clear water with some success. I don't know how important color is on topwater baits so it boils down to confidence you have in a bait.

| contrasting colors on a surface bait that will
roll to show the contrast works for me especially in early summer before they go deep . Hughes River Top Prey seems do this just fine. Ill also use A Hughes enchanter model for this on the surface as the roll produced is pronounced and productive. Any darker or brighter color over a white belly has worked |

| A great topwater color for northern wisconsin ( or any other) is a loon colored topraider by buchertail. I've had great success |

Location: Elgin ,IL | Black, blue & silver and black & silver seemsto be my top three colors for surfacebaits whether it is a Top Raider, Super T or Jackpot. Hope this helps. |

| I like lighter colors or natural colors for more visible conditions. Under darker conditions I start adding some brighter colors. I specially like the bright florecent green jackpot at night.

Location: Belgium | I wish they would manufacture a poe's giant jackpot with a black belly and a hot color on the back. Fish can't see whether the lure's back is blue or black in case of poe's hot silver color patterns. All they could see is the silver sides and white belly. So maybe a lures with a dark belly would work better? |
