buddy had this on his rod this weekend i like how smooth it is, casts very nice but was wondering with the looser weave how well does it hold up over time i fish 3-4 days a week on average for muskies so i do put a lot of wear and tear on line

I have heard the power pro slick frays quite quickly, If you want to line that can take a beating, you want cortland masterbraid in my opinion.

It's a really nice casting, smooth line and it is really nice to fish with.
But as M-Man said, it frays quite fast so i would not use it for musky fishing in rocky waters

I tried it last season and agree that it frays far to much. I too am also a big fan of materbraid.

I haven't tried the slick but did have fraying issues with regular power pro, switched to Cortland masterbraid bronzeback and have been very happy with it.

This is my 3rd season using 832. I really like it. Only issue is that the gore fiber will come out of the line creating a very minor mess in front of your levelwind. However, I haven't experienced any impact to performance and that is fishing June through Ice up, 60+ trips a year. Line does a very good job of retaining very little water and it doesn't expand much at all once you get it wet, which are big positives for me.

My biggest complain is that it doesn't come in 100#.

yeah 832 is really nice stuff i use that on most all my rods and have had good luck with it holds knots well stays together well and like said doesnt pick up that much water i was hoping that that slick stuff would hold together well enough for the girlfriends rod so she could get a little more casting distance then she does. maybe ill put it on her rod for this year.. thanks for the input from eveyone

I hated that Slick stuff, I promptly took it off and went back to the tried and true Bronzeback.

My 832 in green has already faded this season.

In my opinion it casts great. I have only used 832 on walleye jigging set-ups so I can't compare to that. I used Tuffline for a season and it is noticeably better than that, and far superior to the pp slick.

Who cares if the line fades? I love 832. I have some of the green and some of the camo.

I could care less for the power pro slick. I fished with it 3 times, took it off, and went back to regular PP.

hate all types of power pro..... had 80 lb regular, started snapping on me within a month of spooling it, multiple times. talked to a rep i know from shimano, hooked me up with 300 yards of the "slick" for free. threw it on my topwater rod, what do you know, 3 weeks in it breaks again. dont trust it at all. master braid or suffix all the way.

tried it last year and took it off this year. It does fray pretty easy. I held up about 15 feet of it in the sunlight and you could see the fraying. Quite a bit of fraying. It handles well, but the fraying has to be making it weaker IMO.
