Do you prefer for example: Mustad, Eagle Claw or VMC's

I have always been a big fan of the Mustad Round bend #35647. It is a great hooker. On some jerks I like the same hook in 2X strong.

I think it's the mustad round bend. It's the short shank round bend in 2/0 and 3/0. You can't beat it. I get mine from rollie and helen's.

If only Mustad roundbends were made by VMC, with their steel and small barbs, I don't think there would ever be a reason to look elsewhere. As it is, Mustads are made from far too soft steel, so you're constantly having to sharpen them, and the barbs are so big they must limit penetration. I tend to swap between VMCs and Eagle Claws trying to find the appropriate pattern for each bait.

I really don't look at the hooks as I replace them all with VMC,
WHY? I just like them, they take a point and hold it well, thats it plain and simple
