| Planning to invest in a few HellKats this year. Just wondering if anyone has been successful with them. I've been curious about them and don't know much about them or how they work. I assume they are similar to a Bulldawg, but with a wider profile, I assume they need to be slowed down. Any advice will be helpful. Thanks! |

| I've seen the videos, and thanks for bringing up the older post. Really nice fish! I am hoping to drag a Hellkat along side the boat while we cast. I figure with the bigger, slow moving profile, they should work better than a Bulldawg or Medussa at slow casting speeds. How fast/slow do you"normally" work them? |

Location: SE, WI. | Eric; that is a good thought about dragging them behind the boat. Sometimes I will troll them in the prop wash...excellent action with the thrust of the engine. I knew a guy that used to drag suicks behind the boat while casting. I like to pull them down hard...about a 5 foot sweep of the bait, to get the fish to react, OR sharp quick jabs...kind of how a bullfrog swims. The longer sweeps gets the bait down 3 - 5 ft.....where the shorter pulls seem to keep it on, or near the surface. I am talking the cork model! JD |

| That's a nice flathead! And people think cats are "just bottom feeders". Seeing the Hellkat in the mouth of a catfish shows the real predator they are. |

Location: SE, WI. | Archie; Cool pic. Usually when the ski's eat them, they are pretty much Gone from sight. That orange really glows!!! |
