Location: Lake St Clair | Not really wanting to spend a lot on a polarized glasses and I know BPS has a ton.

| Yes, and they work about as well as much more expensive glasses Ive used. Just make sure theyre polarized. |

Location: one foot over the line | I've tried just about everything, and when i pulled the trigger on a pair of costas 4 years ago, i haven't worn anything else. We spend tons of money on everything else, but we try to skimp on a pair of glasses. I know, i probably sound like a poop-stain, however, I was the guy that used to make fun of those other guys for buying such an expensive pair of glasses, then i fished with a pair, and thats all she wrote. |

| I use the cheapos from Walmart but was thinking of trying to find a better pair for low light conditions. Anyone have any suggestions? |

Location: Hayward WI | I planning on getting a pair of the H30's in the Lite series, they have 3 lenses with one that is almost clear. There's another thread around with guy's who have them, cost $55/pr with 3 sets of lenses.

Location: Land of the Musky | I can see the difference in my buddies $150 pair of polarized glasses and they are nice but I just can't see the extra $140 over what I paid for mine. With kids though its easy to go with the less expensive pair when you have toys to buy for the kids  If money was not an issue I would definitely buy some premium glasses though.

| I appreciated the difference with my Oakley Polarized Shallow Blue Iridium lenses so much that I now have a dedicated pocket in my tacklebag to hold the case and lens cleaners. I heard the grief from friends about blowing money in them, too, but they shut up when I started spotting their fish before they did.

Location: Grand Marais, MN | sure they will work, dont let anyone tell you different (that is, as long as they are fully Ultra Violet blocking and polarized). not everyone can trust themselves with nice sunglasses. I tried a pair several years ago, and they were not the most durable or comfortable, but then again thats compared to my current ray bans and now costas.
but if you want some premium lenses, a good place to go is ebay, you can get really good name brand stuff with really good reputations for half off or better. |

| Ive tried alot of stuff out their from cheap to $$$. I can also say i was the guy that broke my fair share of glasses. I can say i think the best modestly priced glasses are anything by Smith. Their poly carb is very durable as well as frames and hinges. After running the gammit i splurged on some Costas with glass lenses and im going on 3 years with the with no comparison to any other brands. Keep in mind glass is more scratch resistant but can shatter easier. Glass is also alot heavier than poly... Poly will scratch easier but can take dropping them. Cheaper polerized shades have a polerized coating on the outside of the lense that will wear off from cleaning and rubbing. You will be able to tell because they will begin to look cloudy and ya cant clean the "cloudyness" off. Quality lenses have the layer of polerization sandwiched in between the lens so it cant wear off from cleaning them. If you spend the money on a good pair get into the habbit of either they are on your head or in the case! The cleaning cloth that comes with them is for cleaning touch ups. When they get really dirty/ greasy use some light soapy water. Ur shirt is not a cleaning tool! I havnt worn anything better than my glass Costas....

I treated all my cheapos the same, like junk. Sit on them, throw them around, yadda yadda yadda. Went thru 3 or 4 pairs a year, at $20 a pair, thats $80 a year in glasses. I paid $200 for my costas 4 yrs ago (which i still have and take care of them because of the price i paid), soooo, in the long run, the costas are actually cheaper. |
