I am contemplating ordering a couple of Big Mama top waters.
I was wondering if anyone on this site has any opinions or experience with these baits.
I hear they are louder than others?
Any feedback would be appreciated.
Looking at Dirdy B, twisted sister and psycho sister.
Thanks
Landry

The dirty b is my choice for anything over a foot of chop the counter rotating blades just make more noise than the psyco or twisted. All of them are louder than any other topwaters in my box plus there super easy to tune to get the pich your looking for. The biggest difference between the twisted and psyco ( other than size ) is the psyco rides a little higher in the water giving it a deeper hollower sound. They're built like tanks and have become my #1 topwater.

Safe to say I'm a fan.

The blade on Tom's baits are bigger and they are LOUD, much louder than other prop baits. They also have a nice big profile in the water as they are bigger than other topwaters, plus they run low in the water, just under the surface. Dirty B counter rotates and just makes a massive racket, also throws a ton of water. In calmer water you probably want to go with the psycho sister/ twisted sister.

I'd also consider looking at the Dingbat, although I haven't been able to throw mine. Very intersting bait that combines a globe with a pacemaker. Lots of high frequency sound going on there both with the interlocking blades and the hook banging off of them. Should provide a very unique sound to add to the mix if that is your thing. I fish pressured water so I'm of the opinion that this sort of thing can be a difference maker. Won't know until the season starts for that guy.

A must have top water lure. Lesson learned last year as boat partner went 48 one night, 54.5 next morning and then 51 that night.

Best prop baits out there IMHO.

I have quite a few different styles/brands and always find my self grabbing Big mama first, or going back to them after a few casts of nothing

I got a Twisted Sister and sure, it's loud, but my Water Chopper is louder.
I've seen and heard about the fish caught on Big Mamas though so they seem to work

I love the black body and red head on all topwaters, almost the only color i use.

Larger (wider) profile than most others, moves lots of water, is "loud" and flat out tough. This bait will outlast others and is made by a great guy. You can't go wrong.

You can get them direct or I believe Thornes and Rollie and Helen's both have them online now too. T'wisted is the 1st topwater out of my box most of the time.

There are alot of good top water baits, but I LOVE my big mammas!!! I guide 4-5 nights a week and put a ton of big fish on the boat with these lures. Last year's biggest was 55" on a twisted sister. Several others over 50"".

Thanks everyone.
Still debating over my options but I will be ordering some.
I was thinking a psych and a twisted.
Should i just go with a black pattern or does the firetiger produce as well?
If u had to chose one model, what would it be?

The Psycho Sister is a top quality lure. Built like a tank and casts easy. Bought one last year and caught a 50.5" about 30 cast into our LOTW trip.

But then you have to decide what one to throw.

The last time I fished with MuskieBob he was throwing a Twist'd or a Psyco. A nice looking big broad bait with a lot of chop. I liked what I saw, I'm sold.

It was the psycho sis'tr, which is new to me this year. Got to love the size of the bait. I'm considering buying the Big Mama walk-the-dog topwater.
