| I bagged a turkey this past Monday morning and couldn't pass up the opportunity to practice my muskie pose pic.  (3rd turkey I've used this unusual pose on.)

I have heard rumor that bucktails made with turkey feathers periodically stop in front of muskies and "display". It must be a carry over from their spring behavior. |

MH47, you're pretty sharp. You have to look close, but the beard is there. It was a jake with the standard-sized (short) beard. This was among a group of 11 hens and jakes - all within range - that were moving through the area on their way to meet up with 2 stubborn toms at the top of a 200ft high hill. I considered passing and pursuing the toms later in the a.m. but toms were not responding to calls last week and I watched hens readily follow toms multiple times so I figured trying for those toms would have been difficult. When a good shooting opp presented itself for this jake, I decided to take him. At 18lbs, it turned out to be a pretty decent sized jake.

| I have tried to make gobbler tails (bucktails out of turkey feathers), but to me, they looked like sh!? (as you can see below) so I don't to it anymore. Would be interesting to see some that others have made if anyone is in the sharing mood.

| Upside-down vertical hold. I don't want to hear about no photo study about how big it is or isn't! All that matters is Lauren did it by herself( I was in the cabin making soup), and was very happy. And I'm a very proud daddy.

| 5's, 6's they make for very photogenic turkeys.
That's very cool. Whenever guys joke about how they're having a daughter so not the son they were looking to hunt and fish with I always tell them... who says your daughter can't be your hunting and fishing buddy? I know a guy who has a son and two daughters and his youngest daughter is crazy about the outdoors, other two kids couldn't care less... I just think that is so cool. Congrats! |

| Yep, she loves it. Deer hunting, pheasant, last couple years we did some duck hunting. but Turkey hunting is her favorite. She wants to go for the Turkey Slam with me. My son, now 21, deer hunts yet, but not really enthusiastic about it. Does it for something to do in internet starved Adams cabin over thanksgiving. |
