Location: Lake "y" cause lake"x" got over fished
So I have been looking at getting a Diawa Saltist. I have been doing a lot of reaserch on which one I should get. I was leaning towards the new black one until I came accross this reel. Here are the reel specs.

Saltist Lever Drag 2-Speed Conventional Reel Model Action Bearings Gear Ratio Line per Handle Turn Weight (Oz.) Line Capacity (Lb. Test/Yards) Drag Max STTLD20-2SPD -/L 6 CRBB 6.3:1 36.6" per turn/ 3.1:1 18.0" per turn/ 15.00 12/420, 14/350, 20/210 BRAID.

Heres the site for a picture reference.

Daiwa Saltist 2 Speed Lever Drag STTLD20-2SPD. It says that it is a 2SPD. and that it has two gear ratios in 6.3:1 and 3.1:1. That is pretty much the only info I have been able to fine on it. Has anyone used it and can give me a review on it. Like, how do you change the gear ratios on the water. and would that lower one help with heavy blades or not.

Has anyone tried this? or plans on trying this? would it work for our application? I would love to get a reel with two ratios if it would work. Any and all info is appreciated, I am just super curious about this reel.

If it doesn't have a cast control of some sort it's gonna be a pain in the but.
Anyway, i use a 2 speed Avet SX for blades and its truly awesome the 2 speed version makes it really easy if you want to slow roll.
Here's the new SXJ version which i think would be even more awesome for the big blades, and AFAIK the 2 gear system on Daiwa work the same way as the Avet.

I believe Cabela's has the following on the show floor if you want to check one out in person.

My buddy picked up one of the new black saltist. Its really smooth pulls 10's with ease and casts really smooth. I like shimano's but was really suprised when I was throwing his saltist.
