I have been looking around lately for an esox mag and have found a good deal on an ltd. My question is how does the ltd compare to the mag. The main reason I was looking at the mag was the ability to fish three people in small waters. Has anyone fished three people out of an ltd, if so how well does it do with three people?
Thanks

i have a 2002 ltd up north...it fishes 3 anglers 'ok', with all 3 guys on one side it can get a little tippy but it isn't bad....it's about 10" narrower than a mag. If you are going to fish 3 guys more than say 50% of the time i'd hold out for a mag....it fishes 2 guys great but if I had thought i'd fish 3 guys a lot i would have waited for a mag....hope that helps....

I have a Ltd, and I fish three people a lot. It's not the three people that make it uncomfortable, it's all of the gear that makes it uncomfortable. If you could convince your buddies to use your gear rather than bringing their own, then the boat would be great for 3 people.

One trick to making the boat more stable is to fish on the opposite side of the bank when you are running the boat up front. You can still cast towards the bank side, you just need to bring your retrieve around the front of the boat to figure 8. Since the other two anglers will be on the bank side of the boat, this helps distribute the weight.

Compared to boats similar in size up to 18.5 feet, The Esox LTD and Magnum have as much casting space from the front to the back as most. The LTD is a little narrower, but wither way, you will still be spaced or separated the same distance from each other in these two boats and any boat the same size for that matter. the difference in storage between the two is not very noticeable either. The only problems you should ever encounter as far as room for 3 people when comparing the Esox Mag and the LTD together would be if you are walking back and fourth often, all 3 guys are fishing off the same side the console is on (not sure if the LTD comes in a console, but this is not a very big deal to begin with) or what Ben mentioned about his boat being a little "tippy" with 3 anglers. The LTD is an awesome boat! Good luck.
