Any one out there tried this? I put mine on and it fits nice but the little piece with the screw on the tranx doesn't match up. Thoughts? I have a 7000C3 that has been missing that piece for 5 years and still works. Though the handle nut loosens up occasionally. Loc-tite maybe? The nut on the Abu appears to be a bit smaller than the shimano.

I'm am a big fan of the adage , "anything worth doing is worth doing right"...

Why not pop $49.00 for a Tinidad handle and do it right? You are already into a $500.00 reel; whats another $50.00? You put Loctite on the handle and you have offically comprimised your $500.00 reel if there is an issue with the handle..that happens you have a $500.00 paper weight... Not criticizing the idea just offering some points to consider..

Drill a new hole in the handle?

How long is the stock handle on the tranx? (from center to center)

Not sure on the length of the tranx handle. The NACL handle is longer from the outside slot. Feels a bit more comfortable as well. I have a Trinidad handle I could move over but I like the tranx knob better. I also have a Dave's te handle that has the nicest knob but the counter weight is so heavy it makes an already heavy reel even heavier. I'll probably order an Abu piece and see if it works on the tranx. Can't be that expensive and it's worth a shot.

Got my tranx yesterday, and the handle length(center knob to center reel axle) is 65mm (2.55inch)

I was thinking of getting the Daiwa RCS handle but was told it wouldn't fit, so currently i'm thinking of getting a handle from a Trinidad A, the one with the 2 holes in it.

But what is the distance from center of the knob to center of the hole (furthest away) on the NACL power handle?

Is there a reason you want to swap the handle? From what I've heard, guys will switch to the Trinidad handle to gain more power via added leverage, but I've never really felt the need. The HG pulls 10s with ease and 13s with relative ease. I'm a sasquatch, so my mileage may vary, but the HG has plenty of torque for most baits. The only place I could see a real value add would be if you like to really burn 13s.

If you have PG, then IMO the power handle change is purely asthetic. I've yet to find a bait I can even feel against that reel.

Mostly I think the knob is better and you gain a slight mechanical advantage with the longer handle. I have an hg tranx. I do throw a lot of 13s with it and I think it does just fine. I bought the NACL for a jerk bait reel and it comes with a power handle so I thought I might find a use for it. I prefer the double paddle for jerks.
