Location: Loves Park, IL | I'm not aware of any musky guides for the Rock River. Not that I know everyone that fishe muskies but I've been in the Flatlander Chapter for 24 years and I don't know of any. There may be a couple guides for multi-species but I don't know of any. If that is what you are loking for, maybe check with the Rock Valley Anglers club. They are a great group and may be able to point you in the right direction. Good luck.

Location: Northern Illinois | Same...never heard of anyone that fishes the Rock for musky in this area. A buddy caught a 45" throwing gulp minnows for walleye on the river last week though, so maybe just maybe. |

Location: Janesville wi | Here in Rock County Wi the rock isn't listed as a musky water and hasn't been stocked recently I don't think. Is it stocked in Illinois? |

Location: Janesville wi | wdnr fish stocking database does show that kosh has recieved stocking of fingerlings a few times over the years most recently in 2001 and I even caught a small one a couples years ago while smallie fishing at night on the river also, a fish over 50 was supposed to have been shocked by the dnr below the beloit dam but with all that said I find it hard to believe numbers are good enough to target them instead of the better lakes in the area.
If a local is catching nice fish on the river in Il. or Wi. I doubt they'd be to open about it though.

Location: Janesville | They still stock the rock in wi there are more in the rock then most people think. I have caught them just have to get out htere and try. most musky in the rock river down south are from the wi stockings. Musky when stocked in rivers will go down stream before taking up a home area. |

Location: Loves Park, IL | A great portion of the muskies in the Rock River around Rockford are also from the Pierce Lake stockings we have done as part of the Pierce Lake Projects of the Flatlanders Chapter. There have been fish caught in the rice Ethan had fin clips and were spotted strain that matched the year classes we put in Pierce. They are there just not a big population. |

You are correct. I'd only looked at the fish stocking data base for rock county before and it doesn't list any muskie stocking but just looked again and Jefferson gets muskies. |
