On some of these lakes that dont hold a lot of "big girls" will Mag dawgs still produce? How small of fish still hit these?

I fish lakes that don't have monsters in them and ive had mid 30s fish go around in figure 8s on 11" sues and pounders. They didn't eat it but they were aggressive

I get several tiny muskies each yr on Mag Dawgs.
Over the last 5-7 seasons... Maybe 10 under 20" , and probably 40 under 30". Many, many 20" pike too.

edit... 40 may be a bit much, but for sure 25-30 anyway. about 5 a year.

The smaller fish seem to love the pounder

I caught a 36 1/2 on a pounder last fall. It absolutely hammered the bait, and I thought it was much bigger than it was by how hard it fought. I've seen my buddy get a few mid 20's on mag dawgs also.

I don't feel like Mag Dawgs will keep small fish away. I've caught several low 30 inchers on them. I would say I catch as many smaller fish on Mag Dawg size baits as I do other baits. Northern pike in the 25-30 inch range really like them sometimes too. Last year I used a Buckethead (Pounder sized Hardhead) some and caught a couple mid 30 inch muskies on it.

During the 1st week after musky opener last year my 1st fish was a low 30's on a Mag Dawg.

9½ inch yellow perch on a 7½ inch glide bait, and a 4-5lb pike on the pounder.
