Hi I'm fairly new to the sport and I have a question about the shimano Calcutta te lvj. I am wondering how well this reel cast and if it would be a good reel for double tens. I am wondering if it is prone to backlashes or not. I am asking because I may be able to get one really cheap and wondering if it is worth getting. Thank you for the information

I really wish i could find one cheap! great reel. definitely get it if you want an awesome reel. it'll handle double tens no problem. may not burn them as well as others, but that is one of the best built reels out there.

That website seems a little sketchy, but I might just try it...

Couldn't find anything on the BBB site.

If you buy from there use Paypal if you can.

I've tried that, I was told it has to be a walk in establishment within 100 miles of the store. I've heard of it working for some, not me. In Hoffman est IL anyway. I'm sure it depends on who you talk to.

Worked for me when tackle warehouse had the 25% off a while ago. I just got the reel took it 2 the checkout and gave the cashier the printout of the price no questions asked.

Ok, I tried it. I went as far as payment options. The only payment option was direct bank transfer. Shipping was 55$ and total to 260$ for the LJV. I didn't have the balls to do a bank transfer , if someone else is feeling froggy, go for it and let us know. Finding a store to match the price seems much better.

same reason i didn't.. i was going to order 5 at $150 each but not going to make payment with my bank account.. shipping was also $55 for the 5 reels.. something isn't right..

noticed the same stuff, and lot of bad grammar and incorrect images for other items of the website. its apparently in indonesia too. probably not safe.

would be nice to buy a dozen at that price and sell them for what they are worth on ebay haha

I did a little digging. That domain has existed for all of 2 months. All signs point to scam.

This is a great reel. I have not heard a single complaint about the reel and I did not have any problems when I used one personally.
I have not seen them for sale for several months now. I was recently online and did find someone who is selling them still. I did not call them directly to see if they are still in stock, but they are very reputable and I have purchased from them in the past. If you want to know more just message me so I can see how many may be interested in this reel. I wanted to give those most interested a shot at purchase before I post the link.

I called the retailer (Reeds) today after seeing the LJV listed online. The person on the phone could not find it on the store shelf. I know that you may find them used on sites like Ebay but the true "new in box" reels may never be bought again.
