| I will be picking up another rod in the next few weeks and was wondering what you thought about tip speed? The rod I was thinking about does not come with a fast tip and all the rods that I currenty use have a fast tip. Just wondering if it makes a noticable difference? |

| It will be an all purpose rod. I don't typically carry more then two or three rods with me at any one time. |

| Tip speed and rod power are two very traits. What one person calls "fast" another might call "mod. fast" or even "moderate." A good example of this is to compare the St. Croix Legend Tournament rods to the Predator line. Both are manufactured by St. Croix, but both have a very different feel in terms of action, though both are labeled as "fast."
The best way to tell what a rods action is, is to handle it and place it under load. You can then get an idea of how the rod bends and where along the curve the rods power is.
If you were looking for an application specific rod, then I would be more critical on action, but for an all-purpose do everything rod, I would get a fast action that was light weight and balances well.

| I use a musky innovation 8foot 10 oz as all round rod. And imo its awesome for this use. |
