| To save some weight in my small boat I think I am going to take out my huge home-made box and go to some small plano boxes. I already have a bunch of planos that are big and deep but dont have any separators in them. My concern is that the baits will get nicked up pretty quick. Can anyone put my mind at ease? Have any tricks to prevent it? Also, I was thinking of getting an even bigger one to store bulldawgs, is there concern with bleeding colors? Anyone have a good way to separate them? |

| I just bought a used small lakewood, but had just made a box for hanging baits. I will post a pic later. Cost me $11 and fit over 50 baits. I got a plastic container with a hinged lid from a big box store and then cut dowels to fit the width. I used small screws and washers to secure it. Just drill pilot holes in the box and dowel. That may be too big for your boat, but you can always get a smaller box. |

| For carring loose baits in a box without seperaters, you can put the bait in a small--or appropriately sized--clear plastic sandwich bag. |

| Thats almost exactly what I made myself. I had an old fish container from school made out of thick plexiglass or something similar. Its just too bulky for my boat. Im going to save it for down the road when i get a bigger boat. I think planos may be my best option just to save weight. Just concerned about them getting dinged up. Most predivided planos arent divided the best way to fit musky baits. |

| I generally put my smaller baits is plano tackle boxes the put lures that are bigger or awkward like a prop baits into my Lakewood box |
