How fast can this boat go with a 135 if you have a stainless prop? Also, what is the base/naked price for this boat with a 135 Merc/4 stroke?

Thank you!!!!!

There really is no 'base' price because there are too many options from color to who you buy the engine from to who rigs the boat to which trailer you want, etc. Please call a dealer to get an accurate quote.

You would need an OptiMax to buy a Mercury 135. The boat will crowd 60 MPH loaded with the correct prop. It will run low 50's with a 115 Opti.

Thanks for the reply Steve. Guess I could have done some research on engine options. Did they discontinue the OptiMax 135?

I had that boat with a 135 Mariner on a jack plate and it was crazy fast! Steve's right; you'll be pushing 60 without a problem. What a great boat! I'd love to have one again some day.

No. To get a 135 HP Merc, you need to go Optimax.

I'd consider either a 115 Opti or 4 Stroke on that boat.

i checked their website and they only have them up to 125 for that class of engine... not that that wouldn't be enough.

Steve, you are very informed about Tuffy products and I am wondering if you could comment on this boat in terms of fishing and all around use? I have seen a lot of Exox Mags, but all were tillers. I am going to buy a new boat next year and I do want a single console model. I know the tillers give a lot of space but this is a boat for my retirement and when the weather is nasty I want a console to hunker down behind on the ride home . Any information would be appreciated.

Steve has been around these boats much longer and can probably offer a better reply, but here is something to keep in mind...

I have owned a tiller model for 5 years. The console would do nothing but take up a spot as big as a big Lakewood, just a little taller. The boat is only 16'9, but it fishes as big as the longest Bass boats. I've had my boat bumped up next to several 21' bass boats when I used to fish Bass tournaments and the fishing area is very comparable. Granted I extended the front deck to where there is only about a 3 foot drop down area in the back and removed every seat, these boats are decked out from the very front to the very back. I love the tillers, but the extra speed would be great and a tiller, kicker motor is an option.

Good luck on your purchase, congratulations on retirement. You will absolutely LOVE this boat. I kiss mine.

I have owned several Esox Mags, and all were console models. Plenty of room to fish 3, fast with only a 115, and a great platform to fish from. Up here in N WI, it's an ideal ride. I fished LOTW, Wabigoon, and all over NW Ontario with mine, and never had an issue. I ran the Esox Mag with side X side seating, so the interior is very much like a bass boat....but made to fish muskies from. Handles better in the rough stuff than a tiller because of the weight distribution and extra power and zoom.

Steve how much differnt is the Esox Mag C than my old musky rampage? It must be faster. Even with more $$ in the prop than the boat, almost, my old rampage will do 41 mph GPS clocked with my 90 hp mariner. 60 mph with a 135 is screamin.

How does the boat sit in the water with a 115 on the back? Is the nose up in the air?
