I'm in the market for a used Terrova, and seeing some with i-Pilot Gen1 and Gen2... what's the difference? I checked Minn Kota's Q&A, and nothing there.

Gen 1 & 2 refer to Lowrance sounders I-pilot is a minn kota Trolling motor 2 different companies Minnkota and Humming bird are kissing cousins

The 1st one had a clunky remote. The 2nd one got a better one. As far as I know Minnkota never termed them a gen 1 or 2, just a model year change.

But, as mentioned above, they could be talking about the universal sonar revision too.

The older remote has 3 retracable routes and spot locks and the newer one has 7 of each. The link has 12 in the remote and like a gazillion if you run it through the Ethernet equipped humminbird. I had the first generation and never had any trouble out of the remote, that's just me though
