This will be my first trip to Ontario for the Opener. Those with experience what do you perfer a colder spring to ensure the fish are pre spawn or warmer spring hoping the fish have spawned and are more aggresive?

In Ohio/WV, we have no issues catching fish in colder waters. The spawn here is typically last weeks of April until the first weeks of May on the creeks/rivers I fish.

Headed to Rowan Lake for the opener and was worried about the fish spawing while I was there.

What have been your best experiences?

Never fished Rowan, but have fished Canada opener and done well. You have the moon phase and the fish haven't seen baits in 6 months to your advantage. They may be moving a bit slower, so bucktails high and slow worked well for me!
Hope to see you on the Cover!

Location: Leech Lake, Walker MN
It's all about the water temps than depth on Rowan on the opener.
Very important!find 60-64in bays or sunny shelters coves and they will be there.
