was your PB caught trolling or casting??
take into consideration % of time trolling vs casting

i cast 75+% of the time, PB was caught trolling

i have hooked larger fish casting but could not boat them.

My 50.5 ate a slowly crawled sucker. I usually fish suckers from October through November. Not exclusively. I cast and troll spots half the time too. My previous 50 was casting at 3am in the 8.

Personal best caught on water where I could troll, and didn't. I do stop at all Troll booths, though, because if you run one and break the law and they catch you doing that, they mail you a ticket. Imagine that.

Top 10 biggest fish have all been casting, but I cast 95% of the time. I want to see the fish eat he bait. Biggest trolling fish was a fat 48.5" - and as I scoped her in the net all I could think was it sure would have been a lot more fun to catch her casting

Both. I'm tied for PB length fish with both casting and trolling. Weight? I dunno. Using the calculations, both were similar in weight...probably within a mere few of pounds of each other.

we have miles of productive waters here in canada making trolling a must in the arsenal, that said i still mainly cast, i started this post because i caught my 2 PB's trolling, (length, don't weight fish ), which i found strange . i'm glad to see it's a mixed bag for everyone. looking forward to wetting a few new baits in a few new spots this summer,

My PB in Wisconsin was caught trolling. I cast and troll about equally in the WI waters I fish.

My overall PB was caught casting in Canada, where I cast 99.9% of the time during the summer...and its about 50/50 in Canada in the fall.

6 fish over 50" and five have been caught dragging a sucker and the other was caught trolling after dark in July. I only drag suckers in the months of October and November. I would be interested in hearing if the guides who drag meat in the Fall catch most all of their biggest fish in this manner.
