| Well here it is almost 2003 and everyone will make the same old resolutions that they make year in and year out.
Let's say that we try and become better anglers this upcoming season, try and teach someone about our great sport. Go out and teach people the proper handling and releasing techniques for the future of Musky and every other species out there, so that our children will have the oportunity to enjoy the great outdoors and the sport that we call fishing!!!!!![:praise:]

To fish clear water more often
To get rid of about half of my lures
To sell my Esox Mag and get a deep V To ENJOY my time on the water no matter what species I am afterThat about does it,lets hear everyone elses! |

| New Years resolutions....gotta have both personal and Muskie resolutions right?
Personal:
a. be a good boyfriend, found a great girl now, one to hold on to.
b. make 2X the $$$ that I made in 2002. My business is all about making $$$, not to sound greedy
c. swear less, smoke less, eat better and work out more.
d. start to plan and save for years to come, living moment to moment and pay check to pay check kinda gets old!
Muskie:
a. 45 days on the water. Did 30 last year, and still being accused of "sandbagging" to win a contest.
b. teach the girl to muskie fish....either she'll like it, or I'll make sure to find days that are hot and sunny for her to sunbathe and read on the boat.
c. work on my boat control! Azrael can flop around like a cork on the wind, gotta get better at keeping her inline
d. more hair, less gliders. (i say that every year....lost a nice fish on hair in June last year, then gave up)
e. be more versatile and flexible while on the water.
f. 30 fish in the boat
g. 17 fish casting....8 fish trolling.....5 on suckers
h. break my very embarrasing personal best of 46"
i. take Luke_Chinewalker out on Azrael for a day of power trolling
j. Break Boro of only fishing 2 baits/day
k. get Lungin to fish.
l. fish with setme31 (we've only talked about it for 2 years now)
m. nail Runnin_Hot with either a food item or sucker when he least expects it.
n. convince Jason_Smith to take me to his Lake X at least 2 times....plan on bribing him with food.
o. paint Azrael black and put a shark's mouth on the front.
p. more trolling, less casting when it has proven to not be working
q. drag my Dad up to Worrall's hideout for a weekend so that I can FINALLY hook him up with another muskie....thinking Sworrall's Lake Baby X
r. actually make the Lake XXX trip happen this year...call to all those invited last year: November 7th, 8th and 9th this year!
s. outfish Musky Fever 4 - 0 in his boat, AGAIN!
t. fish a tournament, would be my first.
u. night fish
v. Learn to stop hating the Fox Chain.
w. take Theedz out fishing for a day, I need more friends who are WITH the law, and not against it.
x. help to increase MuskieFIRST membership to 2004 by 2004.
y. make sure to fish HARD but enjoy it for the fishing, not only for the catching.
z. can't think of anymore, but I had to make it to Z.

*Sworrall, Jason...if you're up for a weight loss contest, I'm you're hucklerry (Tombstone). I'm at 209 right now, I boxed at 185, and tried out for volleyball at 178....and I was a couple inches shorter than. I'll lose 25lbs....

| OK, Slamr, I am IN. Jason may not be, that's OK. I will weigh 180 (now 213)by Opening Day if you want to try to match that. I will then hold that weight. I am getting old, nothing worse than a self depricating old guy.
If we both make the 180 goal by opener here, I will spend that day on any lake you like here, guiding youand anyone else you wish. You up for this? |

| Steve, after having the pleasure of sharing a boat with you in 02, I think you didn't challenge yourself much with #1. #2 on the other hand, could be more challenging. Better keep those snacks out of the boat, and spend as much time as possible out fishing. [:)] Have a good 03 season! |

| * Gain the 20 to 30 lbs that you people plan to lose! Can't afford to let the big girls get away because I have no weight to put behind a hook set!
* Put hooks into, and land, a 50" in WI this year. Enough of this losing the "big one" story when I get back to the cabin.
* Kick off my guiding service.
* Put more fish in the boat than my bro this year! You barely got me last year Krappie!
* Boost my average length boated from 39" to 41"!
* Catch a tiger over 42".
* Finish in the top 2 or 3 in a tournament, or at least register my fish that should have won the tournament![:blackeye:]
* Bring someone new into this great sport!
* Fish new water, or fish water I haven't fished that much every 2 times I am in the Northwoods.
* If possible, learn new techniques (jigging/creatures).
* Catch my first fly-fishing musky! |

| my new years resolution is to develop a giant ego that comes with muskie fishing. I figure i need to do the following things:
1. talk the talk when i am on the water.
2. cut fellow fishermen off to hot spots
3. be a elitist at local club meetings and functions
4. buy a bigger boat to hold my growing head
5. ignore or give false fishing info to others
ok, ok. lets face the fact, as muskie fishing gets more and more popular, i see more of this every year. i've been at for 15 years and i have seen average people who become superanglers by just catching one muskie. i have seen divorces casue the sport is too addicting. i have seen men go bankrupt trying to go fulltime.
In 2003, i will try to fish with new and different muskie anglers and multispecies anglers in the east. hopefully i can teach someone else something new about this sport. the most important thing to me is to keep things fun. This is why i got into the sport. the hunt and challenge of finding these great fish.
Oh, my other resolution is to lose 20-30 pounds

| I see a lot of you guys are too heavy for your height. Too bad. Hope you lose that weight.
My personal problem is that I am too short for my weight, so my goal is to grow 13.5", much harder to do than losing weight. I wish I had YOUR problem instead of MY problem, but that is life. I am sitting here thinking TALL thoughts, and from now on I am going to put the beer on the TOP shelf in the refrigerator so that my arms will be reasonably adjusted when I reach my goal.[;)] |

| I plan on RETIRING and not driving 500 to 600 miles a day. Stay and work around home, cook for my wife, Then hit the waters and fish, do a lot more hiking and mountain challenges, walk my dogs, catch up on what I have been missing for years and years

| How many actually kept those resolutions from 2003? If I recall, I resolved to get rid of some excess baggage in 2002. By late 2003 I was getting divorced. Only resolution I have ever met... This year I am resolving to gain more weight. Since every time I resolve to lose weight I gain some, maybe this year I won't. |
