| Am posting this question for a computerless co-worker. He needs a starter for a 95 model 40hp Merc. The marina he bought it at wants $300. He thinks this is very high(he throws nickels around like they were man whole covers)I have to agree with him on this one though. Is this the going price? Does anyone know where he might get a better deal? Thanks very much | |

| couple of places to check. Depending on time, you may be able to find one on Ebay (can be risky though...), or you can try calling a place called Twin City Outboard in Shakopee, MN. They have all kinds of parts for outboards, and chances are, they will have what you need, at a savings of some kind. Not sure if they have a website, but on line yellow pages will give you the number.

| I have a friend at work that repairs older outboards as a hobby. I will ask him if he knows where you could find a less expensive repair. Will try to post his answer sometime tomorrow. | |
