| I am wanting a more solid jighead hook for the rigging of monster tubes. What is everyone using for the jighead/hook part of the rigging. I am good on the wiring in the treble stinger. Also, what is the best all around weight for the jighead and hook size for it. I just want a more solid stronger jighead hook!!!! Any info would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks. |

| I just ordered the (jerk bait) rig/harness from red October when I bought my tubes. They were reasonably priced and they are made for them, I feel I couldn't have really made one for any cheaper and it probably wouldn't have fit so good.
Although now that I have some lure making supplies I may make a copy of the rig and add some sort of joint in the middle of the harness to try and keep the stinger hook straight after a fish tries to mangle it. I will stick with the trebles it came with though. |

| I use shrink tubing over the rear treble to keep it fron tangling in the tentacles. |

| This is just my $0.02, but I'd start by first asking what you want to do with the tube? I find that the big draw of tubes is the fact that they can be easily rigged to fit a wide range of applications. For your question on a jig, do you want to vertically jig it or swim it? That will determine the best location for the eye. Another question would be what kind of cover, if any, you'll have this thing fishing in/around.
I just cut off the stinger. I find it to be more trouble than it is worth. |

Location: Wisconsin River | I dont use stingers any more. too much trouble, better action. A treble on the belly as far forward as you can get it will increase your hookups. Red octobers swim jig is the best I have found. Nose rigs have great shallow action but have had trouble hooking fish. |
