pondigger - 3/2/2013 12:10 PM anyone know offhand the size single trailer hook to use on a musky spinnerbait....thanks Without knowing what size the front hook is it's hard to recommend a size... but I generally like the trailer hook to be slightly larger. A little nugget I discovered years ago was bending the main hook to the right and the trailer hook to the left with about a 25° offset each from the original center position. I thought of this little trick while bass fishing eons ago, and after testing it out on tons of bass noticed better/deeper hook-ups with this method for both spinner baits and jigs with trailer hooks. If you simulate a fish biting the bait by holding this set up in your hand, you'll quickly discover that the offset provides a considerably deeper bite than when they are lined up conventionally.
