| How does the tail action and depth compare to the regulars? |

| I personally have still not found a way to get it consistently glide side to side. I was really excited when this bait came out but have more than disappointed in the action it produces compared to regular phantoms. I have tried a lot of little tricks to get it to "dance", but no real luck. The thing does sink like a rock making it very easy to fish 8-12ft down but it seems like the deeper I tried to fish it the more difficult it became to make it work how I wanted. I am sure it is probably operator-error to some extent though, I'm wondering if others have found the same thing? |

| That's exactly what I was thinking might happen with the weight. It would kill the side to side. |

| This is interesting, how can you really tell though bout the action when it is that deep? Visibility at the lakes around here are a couple feet at best. |

I found some ultra clear water and tried. |

Location: Madison, WI | is there a reason you cant just let the regular phantoms sink for a while before you start the retrieve? |

Location: Ft. Wayne Indiana | I like the deep phantoms, never had an issue getting them to dart from side to side. Great glide baits and all the ones I have work without effort. |

You can but they are so buoyant that it will keep working higher and higher up in the water column. If you want a regular phantom to stay deep, you'll have to work it slowwwww. |

I agree, phantoms are one of my go to baits, own allot of them in many sizes. Have no problem working any of them except for the 2 deep phantoms I bought last year. If someone has a trick, I would appreciate any help in getting them to work. Tried different methods but must be missing something.

| There were manufacturing problems with the deep softails Phantoms that was not caught during production meaning that some of the deep softail Phantoms did not work right this problem is being fixed and anybody that got a bad bait can get it replaced.
All the baits at thorne, rollies, mto,or blue ribbion are new and work great.
Thanks Todd Cleveland

Location: Mn | try a twisted sucker the 5" weighs a little more than a 7.5" phantom. the Twisted Sucker will work deeper at higher speeds but I wouldn't label it deep because the weight increases its glide adding hang time and the ability to fish it shallow also. The 7" twisted sucker weighs 5.2 ozs and glides like a dream. See you at the Minnesota Muskie Expo Booth 614. aprill5-7 |

| Is there anyway you can tell the good ones from the ones that doesn't work? I was thinking of buying some on eBay, but maybe this is the bad ones? |

| I returned mine without a problem and will order new ones. Gotta love Phantoms bought through musky tackle online. Two great companies. |
