Location: St. John, Indiana | I bought some 1/8 lexan today at Home Depot and realized that its to flimsy to use for crankbait lips, do they sell sheets that are stiffer lexan? |

| for large lips go to a glass shop. they have 3/16 and up. |

Location: Grand Rapids MN | How big of sheet did you get? Just thinking that maybe in the larger piece it may seem flimsy but once cut smaller to fit a crankbait it will feel way the it should. |

Location: Middletown, Ohio | Are you sure it's lexan and not plexiglass ? 1/8 lexan is very strong, but 1/8 plexiglass is too flimsy and will not hold up if used for a diving lip.

| to bad your werent nearby. we have 3/16 and 1/4 sheets.. most use 1/8th for trolling cranks. |

| If it's lexan (polycarbonate) it shouldn't break even if it flexes some. |

| 1/8 is good stuff for most lures. 3/16 for big baits. Make sure its actually lexan. |

Location: Muskegon Michigan | I use all sizes from 1/16th to 3/8th. It really does depend on the application. I use 3/16th or bigger on any cranks longer then 8 inches. 1/8TH works fine on most smaller cranks and 1/16th is what we have put on the Little Claw twitch for 14 years and I have only replaced two that I can think of. Hit rocks? better be using heavy stuff. Also Lexan is a brand of Poly Carbonate. There are many brands and all are basically the same stuff. We also Use Titanium on the TITAN Deepthreat. Have to have it cut with water C.A.D.
You can go too big as well. Using too heavy a lip can suck the action out of a lure fast and make it nose heavy, going too light can also give you fits when trying to tune in a new creation. If you think the lip is too thin try the next size up. Lots of small pieces on EBAY for reasonable prices if you cant find any local. As stated most glass shops carry basic 1/16th through 1/4 inch.
