| I will be heading to lake of the woods in June and was wondering what type of leaders are best? length, lb test, fluoro or steel ect.. |

| Don't know about that fishery but I'll say anywhere between 3' to 6' in length and most will say fluro at 130# test minimum. Stealth tackle can make whatever you need for leaders. |

| I had John from Stealth Tackle make me multi strand coated wire leaders for trolling L.o.w and Eagle. I think they were 90#. I would get 5'. If you are going to wack rock or contact troll you will want wire, that floro will get chewed up fast on the sharp rocks in canada. If you troll open water or don't make contact with structure floro is fine.

Location: NE Wisconsin | Have been fall trolling LOW since the late 1980's. We like to bottom bounce crank baits, so the leaders take a beating. Always used 3-4 foot single stand leaders, about 120#. They worked great but every now and then they would become so kinked they needed to be replaced. Last year after successfully using fluorocarbon in the summer here in WI, I tried fluorocarbon last fall, trolling LOW. Much to my surprise I was able to use the same 4', 100# fluorocarbon leader for 2 weeks of LOW trolling. I inspected the leader often and besides dulling the smooth finish, the leader looked good enough to use next year. |

| Wire...single strand. If your bouncing rocks consistently...Wire...Single strand.
That dulled finish on the fluoro has basically removed the transparent quality of it. And sooner or later your going to break one off...hopefully not on a fish. In the dirty water why bother taking the chance with the flouro?
