What deep cycle marine battery do you prefer for your trolling motor?

Everstart Maxx Batteries have served me well over the years...I could spend 4X as much, but never saw a reason to.

I'm running a pair of BPS batteries and they're working out just fine for me.

I have a pair of Trojan AGMs on their 8th season in my boat that see about 300-600 hrs of use per year and are still going... that said they no longer make the ones I have...I put Duration AGM's in my up north boat and have been impressed and you can find them on sale from time to time...I prefer the AGM style, no maintenance, never have to worry about them ....

Interstate batteries have served me well for my tm. That said I switched my starting battery out for one of the farm and fleet durations begining of last season when I upgraded my electrical and have been pleased with it. Next time I purchase tm batteries I will go with duration

Yep. All 3 in the boat. One, in each of my 3 vehicles.

Seems like Johnson Controls makes or owns many of the brands on the list.
Interstate, Diehard, Duralast, Everstart, Pro Start and more. They own Optima.

I am going on year 11 with my Opti's. I may switch brands but I will never move away from AGM batteries, no water to fill or spill, no trickle charger needed while in storage, and I don't have to pull them in the winter.

As warrens stated; many of these are produced by the same mfgr. There are only a few mfgrs left. I prefer East Penn AGMs. They come under many brand names; Rayovac, Deka, West Marine and many many more labels. They are all the same. Optima moved their manufacturing to mexico and lost my business.

I'm also a fan of East Penn. Long service, excellent quality control. As Ben stated: very few manufacturers left (even fewer in U.S.). Many different brand names out there, but most are made by just a couple of manufacturers. Keep them charged, most will give you good performance.

I've had Dual Pro's in my last two boats. My current set is from 2006 and still have as much juice as the day I installed them. Unfortunately Dual Pro isn't making batteries anymore, only chargers. They were expensive batteries ($250 each) but well worth the money IMO.

I have an old Exide deep cycle and two newer Fleet Farm batteries (Roadrunner I think) and the Exide still has ridiculous power over the newer fleet batteries. I noticed Menards just started carrying Exide so I was looking at replacing my Fleet batteries with new Exides. They are similarly priced but the best batteries I've used to date. Good enough for nascar, good enough for me.
