Hi all,
We are getting the Milwaukee bait swap put together again this year. Jo Junion is graciously handing over the event to us at Operation Muskie and of course acting as a valuable consultant.

It is again going to take place at the Best Western Midway in Brookfield just south of I-94 on Moorland Rd. We are opening the doors at 6 PM for sellers and vendors, and doors open for business at 7. We will again have rectangle tables all around the walls and some in the middle to have planty room for setup. This running on a first come first serve basis.

All of the proceeds of the event will go to support Operation Muskie to help us provide a once in a life time trip to LOTW for 20 returning vets. This will be our 6th year of providing this trip as an ouitstanding way of saying "thank you" for the freedoms they are fighting for.

Admission for the event is $5 for all over 12 yrs old and that will get you one ticket for the main raffle table full of tons of great items. We will also have a couple other raffles going on as well as a number of great silent auction items.

Of course we are looking for any donations to provide for a great evening. Please contact me at [email protected] with any donations and questions. Or simply post on the forum as I will be checking it daily

Thanks,
Paul

Thanks Paul! I have never been to the swap, but I am planning on attending this year. I assume it is Sat night? Great way to thank our vets as well. We are blessed by those who serve our nation, that is for sure.
Do you have to have a table, or can you just walk around with a few items to sell?? Is there a charge for a table?

thanks again

For those who have not attended the Milwaukee Swap its a great time, plenty of lures for sale, beer, raffle prizes and best of all enough money is typically raised to send one vet to Operation Muskie.

Yes it is Saturday night.

There will be tables all around the room for peoples display and sales but I'm sure you can cruise the room selling as well. It is a $5 donation to get in to the show and that gets you one chance for the large raffle.

Tackle Industries will have a good supply of donations for the event. Hope to put a full table of lures and rods together this year so if you go, you should have a great chance of getting a $10-$30 lure or $135 rod for your raffle ticket(s)!!!

Thanks James,
As always a super generous donor/sponsor of Operation Muskie. Your donations have always kept the OM vets in great lures and help us raise enough money to provide a great "thank you" to 20 vets each of the past 5 years...going on 6.

Thanks again,
Paul

I couldn't make the tackle swap last year but from what I understand there were close to a couple hundred people at the swap. I'm sure any one of the other guys that were there could provide a more accurate number.

Hey Paul,
I'll be good for another St Croix Legend Tournament musky rod you can use in whatever fundraising project you choose. It will be either a Big Nasty, Big Dawg or Sling Blade. I'm pleased to support your good work!

The Milwaukee Musky Show is only 2 weeks away and I can't wait. We are looking forward to a great bait swap again this year and as in the past, all of the procedes taken in will go directly to providing an outstanding welcome home for 20 recently deployed war vets.

I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible; bring your baits and equipment to sell as well as buyers for the swap and playing the raffles and auction items.

Junkman,

That was a class act last year donating the St Croix Legend. It raised BIG $ during the auction. Very cool you are supporting again this year. On behalf of Op Muskie... THANKS!!

Since I chose to not enter the Lure Contest at the show, I will donate the lures that I was going to enter and you can raffle them off as you like. I'd rather see a Vet get to go fishing with the money that my lures can raise.

OFM will be there covering the Swap Meet. Get in there and spend some money on the auctions, we are targeting raising enough at the Swap to send a vet fishing ...maybe two!!

Beaver,

Thanks for the support of OM! Are you going to be at the Milwaukee Expo? We can use your lures for the raffles at the bait swap or for the live auction that will be held in Apr.

Thanks!

Dang, thats a good idea for a food drive. I don't think its been done in the past at the Milwaukee swap but definately something to look at next year.

The swap starts at 7 and goes as long as there is interest and people there I guess. This is the first year that I am running it so I'm not too sure how long its gone in the past. Anyone else?

Usually it starts to dwindle shortly after the drawings. Big O and Dennis's band play at 9pm I believe. Check them out. Very cool band and they will rock the house. Time to have some fun boys!!!!

Swap is always worth going to. Anyone who has baits, rods, reels to sell or buy should attend. Help a vet and score or sell some stuff. Buy a bunch of tickets and help a good cause while winning cool stuff. Plenty of room and tables.

See Ya there!!!!

Thanks to Tuffy boats... They are providing the first keg of beer. In addition, OP Muskie will provide snacks (chips, cheese & crackers).
