Dropped my wife off at the grocery store and decided to stop by to Gander. Saw a few Bull Dawgs for 50% off so I was getting them for around 9-10 $. Then I happened to ask a guy to check the prices for me and I also had a D10 Cowgirl in my hand. The normal price is 26.99 for them and he said it cost 9.99. I ended up walking away with 15 cowgirls and 5 bulldawgs. I highly recommend getting there asap as it is out of season and you can score a great deal!

It was Rockford, IL but I would guess that if they are 50% off you would think it would be more than just this Gander. A reduction like that is hard to pass up.

Geneva store had the sign up but the baits were no longer on the green tag sale. The baits should have a green price tag on them. Plenty of non musky stuff still on sale.

I'll be at the Eau Claire Gander this Saturday. With my luck they won't have the sale and if they did all the good stuff will be gone, but I'll have to check anyway!

I was there for a long time. Luckily my wife had about 2 cart fulls of groceries when I got there to help load. It was the green tag sale that Gander was having. The guy actually started marking them for me as I was there. So he individually put the price down with a green sticker so they knew to take the additional 50% off. The guy had no clue what a cowgirl even was or a Calcutta reel. I'm starting to wonder if they hire guys just to work even if they have no clue what they are talking about.

i applied at a gander mountain for a winter job, and didnt get it because i wasnt "qualified". the guy they chose over me used to work at staples, and im sure hasnt touched a rod since childhood...if hes lucky. i routinely would mess with him for a while after, asking for deep diving jitterbugs etc. he also recommended a 10ft. steel head rod for casting bulldawgs!! so to answer brett carrols question, i believe they actually intentionally hire uneducated employees

Could have been somebody moved the sign at the geneva store. The sign on the musky baits said 50 green dot sale but no baits marked with a green dot. No harm done bought some fat free shads for bass fishing in some new colors which were on sale cheap!

Baits at gander that have been moved to discontinued and have green tags on them. New assortments have been loaded into the system and most stores dont know yet. I discoverd the bass baits this weekend. just started scanning musky this afternoon. found some dogs and phantoms right away. Call the stores and ask them to check prices. I am at the madison store.

I just left a Gander in MN - 50% green tag sale went into effect this afternoon. It is crazy how many lures and what kinds are 50% off. phantoms, suicks, jakes, hellhounds, medussas, topraiders, bulldawgs, titan tubes, believers, depthraiders, shallow raiders, budhertail bucktails, etc.....

Absolutely crazy - I wonder if they are even breaking even on some of that stuff?

Up in Hermantown (Duluth) Gander Mountain, there are certain musky baits 50% off, but they are not marked with a green sticker. I just took the lure to the scanner at the end of the aisle to see how much the price was. Walleye Pro Pounders are 13.99, 10" Squirrely Phantoms are 18.99, 5" Super APs are 12.49, 10" Weighted Suicks are 9.99, and 10" Jakes are 8.99. Good deals to be had.

Brett--they had about Mayhem 6 dc left, a cuple magnum Buchertails and a few twin 8's, 2 perch large (10"?) and then 6 or small 6" shallow raiders and about 4 small depth raiders.
I bought one of the big shallow raiders, a couple cowgirls and a twin 8 bucher. I was hoping to get a top raiderand a dog, but the guy said those went quick

Annoying... Called EP Gander, fishing dept told me alot of musky gear was green tagged. Drove 30 minutes to get there to find VERY few green tagged items. Talked to the sales associate who told me, "yeah it's only these few things in this clearance aisle" Wish I would have had them scan a few things for me. Must have run out of green stickers.

The Gander Mountain in North Little Rock, AR didn't have any musky baits on sale... I was able to get some 7" Rapalas F-18's and a 5 inch kicking minnow 60% off though. I can use them here for bass, as well as try them in MN this summer.

I was wondering about the hooks though. Should I switch the hooks for some 2/0 musky hooks? I will be putting on new split rings of course, but the hooks out of the package look too flimsy to handle a musky or large pike. I will also have to add a little weight. I know it will affect the action, but for $4 I couldn't pass on them.

Be careful at the Madison GM & check the prices when at the checkout - 75% of time when buying a "sale" item I'd have to request to get the sale price, even had spools of tip-up line come up at $500 each this winter (a bit obvious when the bill is $1200+ for some line & a couple ice jigs!)

I had ten items in Bemidji that the guy at the back counter assured me were half price...got to the checkout and I said "please conferm that all of these items are half price". He said "only one item comes up as on sale". I said "I'm only interested in these if the half price applies". He shrugged his shoulders and rung them all up at half price. Wow.

Hannah, just got screwed by wausau gander. Was there last week and they only had a select few things with green tags. Got a couple showgirls.. Then went back today and green tags were on more baits, thought sweet! Picked up a mag, an inhaler and couple tripple d's. Was distracted on the phone at check out and walked out. Got into truck looked at receipt showed these baits were NOT discounted.. went back in and they were like oh yesterday was last day of the sale. But i liked what i picked out and god forbid i put one back so just bit the bullet... But lesson learned, dont just swipe the card and walk out lol.
