| 8 inch Shaker vs. 8 inch Hughey
Which is better?

| Jlo or Britany Spears,,,its a winner either way
The big difference is the shaker stays deeper I think its the deepest running glide bait available and seems to hang longer between pulls before sinking,,,I think the hughey is the better hooker,,Shakers require a harder pop to get them going, the blunt nose of the hughey makes it a little more erratic,,gotta have them both

| Shaker for sure.
Something about that big profile that the fish like as much as I do.

| I like em both, but I can't say the same for the Enchanter. Called Reeses today, no Panfish Igniters, no idea when they will get any. | |

| Several deadly retreive change ups can be worked into the 6",8",or 10" Shakers. My most productive retreive has been as follows:
As soon as the bait hits the water do about a 2' pull, the bait will complete a very erractic ,rolling movement-allow bait to sink a few feet on the pause-begin a series of slow downward taps on the rod to acheive a nice easy side to side glide-pause again and allow the bait to sink a few feet- execute another fast 2' pull. These baits cast a long way and in a normal cast this procedure can be executed about three times. Fifty muskies in 2002 on both clear and stained lakes, flowages and rivers.I use #100 power pro ,6500c4 reel,Lamiglass custom Hughes River Model rod.
I use the excact same retreive on the Hughsies in all lengths. The smaller 6" model will sink faster and I use to fish deeper. The action will be different than the Shaker but at times can be just what trips their trigger.
The Enchanter is an outstanding up and down jerk bait. When worked correctly the bait will really roll over on the dive and then roll back up on the rise.Deadly over weeds and around wood. Both the 6" and 8" models work the same. Best color combos to accentuate the roll combine a bright or dark top with the white belly.

| I've tried an 8" hughey and an 8" cobb's roundnosed. I definetely like the cobb's. I don't see much difference between them though, except maybe a slightly differently shaped head and tail.
I do like the 6" hughey, but then again I LOVE the roundnosed cobb's. Both work the same. The cobb's even glides wider and sinks slower.
