Hey Guys, Could you please post the baits that work for you best on LOTW this time of the year. Types,Colors, and Sizes. I'm newly addicted to Musky hunting and need all the help I can get. Concidering the cost of these baits I need time to aquire them as the funds will not allow me to buy a bunch at one time. I'm sure that some of you can appreciate this. This thread will also help some others so we all can do the best we can in Canada. Thanks, Tom (Winnebagoland Musky Club Treasurer/ Fund Raiser Rep)[:p]

Thanks for the guys as this will get me started I've already ordered some baits,a couple here and a couple there are eaiser to explane then a arm full. I don't know where we going to be at as I've never been to Canada before so this will be a new experence for me. At 50 years old it gets harder and harder to find first's. Thanks Again, Tom

This time of the year for me it's been surfacebait and Bucktail time!

Keep it simple!
A double Mepps and a Bootail should do it for the bucktails and a Black husky Hawg wobbler and a Jackpot will cover the surface.

This is only a start! Be versital up there and give the fish what they want.

Good Luck and stick a big one[;)]

Surface baits are my favorate but hooking percentage goes down. There is nothing on this earth like watching a 40"+ fish zeroing in on your bait, it surly lets you know that your heart is still working[8)] Thanks for the feedback,Tom

Some good advice so far, you can't go wrong with the bucktails and topwaters. At this time of year do not forget your JERKBAITS!! Suicks, bobbies, burts, or my personal favorite, the sledge, will all catch fish. Some friends of mine tear em up on burts every year, but I can't buy one on a burt.
Also some jakes, grannys, shallowraiders will come in handy. From about the middle of July on, I like to throw big stuff, 10 in. jakes, big eagle tails, 9 in. sledges, 3 once spinnerbaits. It's a confidence thing in the dark water.
Good luck, Mike Jensen.
