I have never seen these in action before. I like the way the other Hughes Rivers glide, but have never seen the 10 incher in the water before. How is the action? Do they sink fast, slow, how wide or tight is the glide? etc....Any and all information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Mike Hulbert

The 10" hewy has a real wide glide and a nice wobble to it ,sinks at appox. 1' per second.Have had more luck with the 10"as a search bait,It does bring the big girls out to play, also an excellent hooker. And like all hughes rivers ,well made ,and run out of the box.Weight 6.5 oz.ARTIE

If you are refering to the cigar shaped Hugheys and not the Shaker... I have lot's of experience in that department. Ten years ago the 10" Cobb was the Long Family secret weapon. As those became less available and the design changed a little... my old man started forkin' out the cash for the Hugheys. The 10" model is all he throws from opening day to ice-up. The old fart will out fish me any time, any where. Is it the lure or is it his absurd good luck????

Long, slow, very wide glide (swing) with a very slow sink on the pause. Takes patience to stick with this presentation... but it is effective... especially out off the weedline or over cleaner cover. Cost aside (These babies are expensive!!)... these lures are good and worthy of anyone's tackle box.

But... with their extreme weight... be prepared to lose a few when your line goes "KA-POW"[:0] [:0] A backlash with a Hughey can cost you $50 a pop.

Happy Hooker,
I'll be at Chicago. I will be in the Kentucky Moutain Musky booth. I am sure I will be at the hotel after the show to get a little nutty.
Are you willing to seperate with any of your Hughes Rivers, or Granny's?

Happy Hooker, please e-mail me at [email protected]

Thanks,
Mike Hulbert
