I put one of the Minn Kota 3 bank 10 amp chargers (MK330D) in my boat last spring and so far am very happy with it. It seems to charge the bartteries very quickly.
The 3 bank charger that came in my Triton had one of the three banks quit working, the boat was 12 years old so can't complain too much.

Is there a significant difference between 5amp per bank and 10amp per bank? obviously it is twice as much power, but is a 5amp enough power to charge a battery that has half a charge over night?

I'm in the same boat, I just unbolted and tossed mine a couple weeks ago. I planned on going with MinnKota for sure, just not sure if I want to run a 2 bank for trolling batteries or go 3 bank to include starting battery since I nightfish alot. Likely I'll get the 3 bank though.

Has anyone on here used the alternator charger from minnkota. I am looking at getting one and wondered with this charger do you have to worry about over charging your batteries. Also what kind of luck did you have with it.
Thanks

I like the 10 amp 2 bank charger from Guest or dual pro. They last and can take the abuse of marine use. I have had the pro mariner and the bass pro models but they just don't last as long. a 10x2 charges my batteries fast.

my charger has 5 amps per bank and has always charged my batteries fully over night. the only reason i think a larger charger may be necessary is if you only have 4-5 hrs to charge or so.
